Ronald

There are no mod.'s for the smf2.1rc1.

I tried the GRPD no go, tried the snowflakes, gives me a blank page.

I take it they need some code change..

I don't think I'll update, got a notice bugs are still in RC1

Bigguy

RC2 is being released very soon. From what GH says anyway.

Is it tough to keep upgrading..

Bigguy

Upgrade at your own pace. I watch what has been merged in so I can tell what has been fixed. Then I pick when to upgrade.

GH says RC2 is released now.

What's the actual RC1 to RC2 upgrade process?

Same as usual. overwrite the files on the server and run the upgrade.php I think people should hold off a bit though and give it more time.

They've pulled RC2 so obviously problems with that one.  Luckily I waited and didn't install it. There had to be a problem because there was no announcement, and no release download provided.

Well some good came out of it Bigguy.  I can quote a post now using IE11. lol.  Couldn't do that before. And the smileys show in the editor. ;)

Bigguy

Well, that is good then, lol. :)

@Ronald you can try to install mods for 2.0.1 by editing the "package-info.xml" file contained in the mod's zip file. You need to change this code which will look similar to the following but may have various other numbers:

<install for="2.0 - 2.99.99">
To this...notice the ",2.1 RC1" part and make sure you add the comma after the last version that is there. Each individual version should be separated by a comma. The example provided above with the dash would cover all versions from 2.0 to 2.99.99:

<install for="2.0 - 2.99.99,2.1 RC1">
This example would also cover 2.1 RC1, specifically.

Or you could just Emulate.  But if the mod doesn't actually work in 2.1 then it won't make any difference how you install it. Wait until they get updated (if they do) would be the way to go.
