I've always used WHMCS but now their pricing has skyrocket since their company was taken over. It will cost way too much to upgrade it. >:(

So, over the past 2 months I been look at and playing with other software in hopes of finding a solution that is both cost effective and worth using for me and my clients. Enter Clientexec.

https://www.clientexec.com/

They have a 30 day trial period and I've been playing with it off and on for 2-3 weeks now and really like it! It is a bit different from WHMCS but works well and has some features that you would have to pay extra for using WHMCS. Overall, I'm pleased with it.

The CSS is also very different as it uses a combination of CSS and SASS. I've heard of SASS before but have never took the time to look into it until now. It uses almost the same CSS that you are used to using but uses it a bit differently...for those who have never seen or used it.

I've heard of SASS as well but never really played with it at all. It looks interesting. Clientexec looks real good. Never heard of that either. Hope it works well for you.

The biggest difference is that things like the hear info are in its own separate "_header.sass" file, etc. This makes it easier to find what you're searching for. It contains the header, logo, login info, etc.

Look here and use Web Dev:

The only thing I don't like is that I do see a few "inline" bits.

So I just started doing some reselling and was looking at WHCMS and that's what the host mob recommend.

Irrespective of which is chosen do they all have the same functionality where people can purchase, log into an account to manage their plan and billing?

My biggest question is how to actually integrate it into a site.

I'm not big on css (just a few basics)using wordpress and divi to build sites now.

Please do not PM me with questions on astrophysics or theology.  You will get better and faster responses by asking homeless people in the street. Thank you.

Also holy moly you can offer cheap prices - nothing like that here in Australia and seemingly no one does VPS reselling just shared.

At least the hosting I resell is on super fast SSDs.

We really do lag behind other parts of the world when it comes to actual internet speed though, so having a Aussie based server actually makes a lot of sense to people.

Pricing is the biggest difference between the two. WMCS' prices are outrageous and keep going higher and higher. But basically, they do have similar features although there are some small differences.

The billing system/client area will be on a separate page... I.E., https://yoursite.com/billing or whatever directory you choose to put it in. To integrate it into your main site you would just create a link to it somewhat similar to how you would add a link in SMF.

You can even do dedicated reselling, providing your host allows it.

Ha! I'm on DSL speeds where I live. A lot of small towns are like that over here. However, there is talk from the cities that they may start their own services with real high speeds and cut out the big guys. But they've been talking about it for a few years now and no action yet. :dontknow

So I went with WHMCS as for up to 250 users, and I doubt I'll ever reach that, the overall cost is pretty similar. It's only once you get over that 250 that suddenly WHCMS hits a huge cost spike.

Some guy here in the US did that and is now expanding with the help of a government grant: https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2022/08/man-who-built-isp-instead-of-paying-comcast-50k-expands-to-hundreds-of-homes/
