Quote from: Skhilled on Sep 22, 2021, 09:02 AMI see two option here...

1. Restore the backup.

2. Move the directories and files to a directory under /public_html in a separate subdirectory and run repair_settings.php to make everything sync so the world can see the site.

I did use the restore feature, but I never did see anything.

So in order to move them all at once I make a folder in public_html then select all all and move them to that folder?

Yes, location is where the installation should go. Maybe your hosting set it up that way, so it goes above /public_html. Not sure why they would ever do that. But in the future, never put files there or you'll have problems.

So, the backup is only of the db? If so, then you'll need to sync it to wherever you will put the files now using repair_settings.php.

repair_settings.php. will not open anything.

I guess I'll have to delete those files and start over again.

Dam I hate this, I try my best and it mostly ends up a disater, guess I'll not do anything more like this.

Skhilled

You have to put your files including repair_settings directly under the /public_html directory for that url to work. AGAIN, putting the forum directly there is NOT recommended! Create a subdirectory and put them there then create a redirect in case someone just types: https://arcadeholics.net

This way with or without the forum directory in the url, it will work. They can type:

https://arcadeholics.net or

https://arcadeholics.net/subdirectory ...whatever subdirectory you use.

You've got that right! LMAO

Just had one last night and wanted to quit my job...and still might. Getting pretty bad and it's a new job. But I need the good insurance they have for my high blood pressure meds. And just found out I may have sleep apnea and need testing for that. :(

I've had those days. Not nice to go through when it's a new job.

Yeah, I already have to do heart testing because of my high blood pressure and take meds for it but keep it under control. If I have this then it could make things worse. But God has always looked out for me so I just pray for the best. :)

To late now. I started deleting all the left over files.

Removed all the domains I had also.

Now when I start over where do I put the domain name? in domains, sub domains, addon domains?

I think I'll go with RC4 installation.

If I use the FTP to install RC4 will this go into the public_html?

Yeah, I know. LOL More to come... lol

Ronald

I attempted to install RC4, I could not get it to accept the information I was feeding it, kept getting rejected.

So back to install 2.0.18 using the softaculous, and again back to the same situation.
