2.1.5/6 implemented a fix to the mail queue that...  slows things down.

There have been more & more mail transports that drop or error out on various mail send conditions.  Historically, SMF could just connect to the SMTP server & hand it off, and the mail transport would relay the message if & when it could.  It was now in the mail transport's queue, not SMF's mail queue.  Newer mail transports are either dropping or returning errors, in real-time, causing emails to get stuck in the SMF queue.  When this happens, as an example, invalid recipients could cause a huge logjam in the SMF mail queue.

So...   A fix was made to handle such errors & warnings, and to reattempt delivery over the next few hours.

The bottom line is that you should see fewer/zero stuck-in-the-queue or dropped emails.

At the same time, it will not process the queue immediately.  There will be a waiting period.  Most folks aren't too happy about this.  I suspect there will be a speed-it-up fix at some point.

Notifications are broken again, the emails seem to be stuck in the queue. I'm unable to force send them I click send now and nothing happens.
The email test works, it seems to be a bug in 2.1.6

Hi Mick! Well, I've only installed a test site to see if there were any changes. I installed on theme and it worked. So, I assume that all of them will work.

I didn't upgrade any of the sites just yet. That may be a different story. I'll let you know if there are any problems.

I'm curious Steve, how many of your themes will need updating for SMF 2.1.6  We noticed a lot of custom themes are getting several test failed during these last updates.

I've updated to 2.1.6, the test site was running it for a while no issues.
I haven't upgrade PHP we are still on 8.3, that is the latest version that will run with TinyPortal

Jeez! I've been so busy with theme coding, etc. that I've missed the v2.1.5 release and now there's a 2.1.6 version???

...AND I missed that there is a PHP 8.4!
