On my forum, it shows a member signed in, when you open the profile it also shows they were signed in, yet they get this message

you were unable to login. Please check your cookie settings.
BACK

and they say they are not logged in.

Is cookies doing this, what should the cookie setting be?

It can be whatever you want it to be. Try changing the "Cookie Name" to something else. The user may also want to clear their browser's cache first, especially if no other users are experiencing this issue.

Every now and then I change the cookie name just to get rid of the old crap. LOL

Hey that is easy, but what happened was I changed the cookie name, got banned, blocked, got a notice I wasn't allowed to see the page.

Cleared the browser cache and cookies, logged back in. Oh what a fun night.

I guess I should've told you to clear your cache as well.
