2.1.7 Update

@Dave was nice enough to let us know that 2.1.7 of SMF is now available. Here is a small snippet from the original post. Please read the entire post released from SMF:

Simple Machines is pleased to announce a new patch for the 2.1.x line of SMF, which pushes the version number to 2.1.7.

Notable changes in SMF 2.1.7

• PHPSESSID removal
• Mail queue fix
• Search fixes for mb3 and memory types
• BBC bug fixes
• Fixes broken activation links in Gmail
• Fixes image/avatar handling bug caused by missing mime handlers

Actually, I was there earlier yesterday and never noticed it until Dave told me about it late!

I didn't notice either and the notification in the admin panel never showed up til today. I'll have to get it updated.

The admin panel notification shows up after the weekly maint runs, specifically, the Fetch SimpleMachines Files.  Those files include all the announcements & current versions.

It would have popped upon its own.

You can force it by selecting Fetch SMF Files & pressing Run Now over on Scheduled Tasks.

My custom forms mod leverages that task to ping the json file on my site to check for updates. I haven't seen any other mods do that...
