I've already assumed as much. Especially, the way they are hitting servers very hard.  >:(

Folks are increasingly relying on the AI summaries, instead of clicking thru to the source of the info. There are published studies confirming this.

Info & news sites have been hit the worst. The summaries are zero-click solutions, killing sites.

They're cooking their golden goose. As the primary content is increasingly AI generated, it's all going to slowly feed back on itself & hallucinate.

We'll need paid enclaves of non-hallucinatory content for humans to gather around. AOL is coming back!

...And, I loved AOL. That's nwhere I started beta testing. I was a gamer and found a bug in a game and reported it. Someone responded that I should be a "beta tester". I didn't know what it was back then. But, I tried it and loved it! I've beta tested various versions of Windows, countless games, countless other online software, like WordPress, etc., Twitter before it was released and a ton more.

Les and I used to have dedicated servers so that I had a lot of space to do these things, although I don't do it anymore...

I have found myself looking at them. I hate doing it. Not very often though. I still do my research the old way, lol.

@Skhilled I remember the days of AOL, lol. Better days back then for sure.

Summaries aren't too bad. As long as you do your research first!

Hell yeah! Didn't worry about getting hacked because that wasn't a thing, yet. And, hackers helped you!  :rflmao

I've heard that the summaries are great for Google because they then don't need to send ad revenue to the site that the user did not go to.

I've made multiple search queries where all the results were irrelevant, but the generated summary got the answer right in the very first sentence.
