Was using my desktop the other morning, when the power went out,  stayed out for a couple of hours, then came back on. Then tried to restart computer kept freezing on me, kept getting messages to try this and that, and finally got a message on the blue screen of death saying bad config

Back to using the old stand by windows XP

Bigguy

What was the error message on the blue screen. Next time you get it it would be nice to see the error code itself.

lurkalot

I'm guessing, probably got the automatic repair screen come up.

Bigguy

It should still display an error code somewhere.

bad.config

Can't seem to get it to install a clean install of windows 10.

Power spike?

Possibly fried PSU, or mobo or CPU in that order of likelihood.

If you happen to have a spare PSU lying around give that a try.

I reject your reality, and substitute my own.

You hit it, power went off for a couple of hours, then came on, when I tried rebooting it came up with the repair thing, that didn't work, the more I tried the worst it got..Finally a blue screen came up with the message bad. config

I have been working with a guy from windows 10 help forum, nothing so far has worked..

Back on with the old computer.. Just kept trying, rebooted and kept clicking enter as the dots were spining and in came to life..

I have been trying for almost a week to get this dam thing going, tried everything I knew and what the other guy knew, nothing worked, then just a simple keep clicking enter and it worked..

Dead once more, it was running nicely, I was setting it up the wat I wanted, got a notice 4 updates were waiting to be installed. Well that did ir, this machine freezes on updates, so it's dead again, can't seem to get it to reinstall again either freezes on that also..

Guess it's parts..
