I thought I'd share this with you guys now I've trialled it.

I had an issues recently where both my C drive and the clone got messed up, it was my fault but that a whole different story.

I repaired the C drive and then whilst looking for clone programs, I had Easus and Acronis already installed but I had issues with both, I found Macrium Reflect.

I installed the free version, thinking it would tell me I can only do clones of a certain size or a certain amount and was pleasantly surprised to find neither of those things happened.

I proceeded to clone the C dive to my back up drive installed in the PC and everything went OK, I tested the cloned drive by changing the boot order in the bios and it worked just great.

Then looking into the program a bit more I found that you can set up a scheduled back up to run at regular intervals, so I set it up and and basically forgot about it.

Today first Monday of the month I got a popup from the program to tell me the scheduled task was going to run so just clicked OK and off it went in the background.

I checked the cloned drive and the program had run successfully. This now means that I don't have to remember to do it every month as the program will do it for me.

I personally think this is a great idea especially as it's for free, I hope you guys find it useful too.

Just to note that the version is from 2023 but it still works with no issues. Read the info on the download page as to how to install it etc. As far as I can see this is a genuine program from Macrium but the Macrium website is not hosting this version

The link to the app is https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/macrium_reflect_free_edition.html I can promise you it has no nasties in it, my Avast didn't show anything either before installing or after

Sounds like a good program. Glad it worked for you.  :lb

I remember seeing  Macrium for awhile now. And Major Geeks has been around for far too long. LOL

I may give it a try sooner or later....after I get linux sorted.
